The current app has no advertising or third-party analytics SDK. You do not need a separate Vocapair account for the core learning experience.
Information Vocapair collects
Vocabulary progress, answers, settings, reminders, and learning statistics are stored on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, supported learning state and preferences are also saved in your private Apple CloudKit database. If you use family sharing features, the shared learning summary is available to the participants you choose.
Catalog and service security
The app connects to app.vocapair.com to download catalog data, translations, covers, and audio. The service receives technical request information such as the requested resource, IP address, and request time. App Attest and short-lived sessions protect access; the backend stores attestation key identifiers, public keys, counters, timestamps, session-token hashes, and short-lived request challenges. These protect the service rather than track advertising activity. Web hosting may also retain ordinary access and error logs.
Apple services
Vocapair may use Apple services you choose to enable:
- iCloud / CloudKit stores supported synced state in your Apple Account when enabled. Family-space features use Apple sharing permissions and expose shared summaries to invited participants.
- StoreKit processes purchases and restores through Apple. Vocapair does not receive or store payment-card details.
- Game Center may display your nickname, achievements, or leaderboard activity when you opt in. Apple processes that information under its own terms.
- TestFlight processes beta diagnostics and feedback when you test a prerelease build or send a report.
- Notifications may include local practice reminders and, if you allow notifications and keep Product news & offers enabled, occasional remote product announcements or discounts delivered through Apple Push Notification service. Vocapair stores the APNs device token, app version and build, notification environment, and device locale needed for delivery. The token is not combined with learning activity, an Apple Account identity, advertising profiles, or notification-open tracking. You can disable product messages in the app and notification permission in iOS Settings.
Audio and speech
Pronunciation uses downloaded and cached catalog audio, with system speech available as a fallback where supported. Fetching audio makes a network request for that media. The app does not record or upload your voice in the learning loop.
Feedback you choose to share
Feedback forms prepare the text you enter, optional contact details, app version, device model, and iOS version. The system share sheet opens so you can choose where to send it; the form does not automatically upload it to Vocapair. TestFlight feedback is processed through Apple.
Website
This website uses Plausible analytics served from stat.alta.nz to understand visits, popular pages, referral sources, and broad device and location trends. Plausible measures aggregate traffic without tracking cookies or persistent visitor identifiers. Network requests to the analytics service include technical information such as IP address and browser headers. We do not send app learning progress or feedback form content to this website counter. See Plausible’s data policy for how the analytics software handles visit data. The website has no advertising and does not store a theme preference.
Advertising and tracking
Vocapair contains no advertising SDK and no third-party analytics SDK. The current app does not track you across apps or websites.
Children
Vocapair is a general-audience vocabulary tool and is not directed specifically to children. The current app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data retention and deletion
Clear cache removes downloaded content separately from learning progress. Learning reset and full reset have separate confirmations; neither should be assumed to cancel purchases or erase all Apple-held information. Turning off iCloud sync stops syncing but does not itself delete an existing cloud record. Apple account data, shared records, purchases, Game Center, and TestFlight information are subject to Apple’s controls and retention. Turning off Product news & offers removes the current device token from Vocapair's delivery list; APNs may separately retain delivery information under Apple's policies. Backend security records are separate from your local learning data; contact support with questions about their removal.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the app’s data flows change. The current description covers the server-backed catalog, consent-based notifications, and optional Apple cloud and sharing features.
